Macro attachments on ME3's buttons - weird detail

So I notice something in the macro attachments menu that I hadn't seen before.
You can attach macros to the ME3 key bus in the ME1, ME2, and PGM-PST buttons, but when I go to look at the Macro Attachments menu, I notice there's a spot for "M/E3 Key 1 Src Select M/E1" and a spot for "M/E3 Key 1 Src Select M/E4" (pgm/pst) BUT there's no spot for Select M/E2!!!
However, I can attach a macro there by using the panel, not the touch-screen menu.
Here's what I'm wondering - #1 why is the key button for M/E2 skipped as a macro attachment position, when I can attach a macro there by using the panel anyway?
And #2, if I record a macro above position 32, can I still attach that macro to the key bus M/E2 button (in M/E3), since I don't think I can call up a macro above 32 by using the panel, only the menu?
Even better, M/E1 and M/E2, in the macro attachments menu, have all 3 spots available to take attachments in the menu. ie, ME1 has spots for ME2, ME3, and ME4.
I realize the above paragraphs can look very confusing if you're not actually sitting in front of the panel and menu. But then again, maybe that's just me.
