I am wondering if anyone has seen this problem with the 7000. I build most of my effects with "Crosspoint Disable" turned on of course. Now for some effects I need to have the switcher choose sources for me and naturally I turn this feature off in the path menu. During setup everything works fine and all is well and everything looks great. Now it's the worst thing in the world to find a bug in a switcher on-air but I guess I am just reaffirming that you learn something new every day in this business. I have found that the switcher freaks out and takes other random sources for a split second when loading an effect with crosspoint disable turned off. I tried to recreate the problem off-air with no success but I know it exists since it happened the 3 times I loaded that effect on-air during the show. It seems that when on-air and you are using different ME's and resources, the swithcer gets bogged down or something and this bug arises. Has anyone run into this? If so, any solution? I'd like to be able to use this feature!

Yeah I'd have to admit I almost always forget to do an all-clear on the switcher before I load my disk. I think this is what I need to do. Perhaps the machine just gets gunked up with bad info. Who knows.

i've used a 7000 (7350) switcher for years doing news - we have multiple effects - some with and many without crosspoint holds......we've never encountered a problem recalling the effect live on-air or having random sources jump up. There are some things you need to watch out for like the frame memories taking a split second to load the correct still so it is best to always start the effect without the frame memory "on air", I have occasionally seen similar things happen with source changes through the aux bus such as the source for an aux bus feeding a DME taking a split second to change while it is "hot" but I have never had any problems with the M/E busses "freaking out" between effects.

No one has had this problem? Does anyone do this when they work on 7000?
