Any tricks to programming the dvx on an EXTENDHD? Trying to build a show without an external dve and am finding it tedious... any way to copy all keyframe values from one keyframe to another? It seems to only take the hilited value of the property that I am currently on... as well, for double boxes, how do you combine dvx's so that you are not tying up two key buses? Any other tricks would be helpful as well... On another note, on the P/P bus there are only 3 DSKs, but the BG and DSK1 transition lamps are always lit, and whatever is on preview gets tallied (if the BG/ DSK1 is selected, PST is tallied, if KEY 3 transition is selected, KEY 3 is tallied, all without being active) tried a couple of resests, and installing other configs to no avail...

Thanks.

Hi scott, In relation to your 2 boxes scenario, you can also use this setup I have made for our news sevice. In the SETUP menu, acquire all 4 channels of the DVX in QUAD Channel mode. e.g. Box Source 1 to DVX 1, Source 2 to DVX 2, Background source to DVX 3, Key Signal for Background to DVX 4. Key Mode for DVX Channels 1 & 2 is (V & V), Key Mode for Channels 3 & 4 is (V & K) Set the priority for Channels 3 & 4 to be over Channels 1 & 2, with Channel 1 priority being over Channel 2. NB The key cut signal for the boxes will probably have to be inverted for this to work for you. Then you can select your boxes as a prime source on the mixer...freeing up an ME. Also, assuming your locked off studio camera is in DVX 1, and your location source is in DVX 2, you can freely reposition DVX 2 to accomodate any framing of this camera because both the background (DVX 3) and the studio (DVX 1) have priority over DVX 2. I know this ties up 4 channels of DVX, but horses for courses as they say...it suits our purpose well. Cheers, Roy

Thanks... most of the problems have been solved. Tally was from the AUX busses being active in the tally menu.... P/V was selected on one of the AUX's, most of the DVX I have figured out, guessing it is old software because there is no 'copy channel' thanks for all the help... same problem I guess trying to delete a keyframe... it only deletes the properties of the hilited keyframe.

Hi Scott, That's many questions in a single post... -> DVx copy : You should have a Tab in the "DVx Edit" menu allowing you to copy a KF from a channel to another. You can choose in that Tab which part of the KF you want to copy (2D - rotate - crop...). By selecting "Copy Channel" you will copy the entire KF. This function was not implemented in the early version of the DVx, so depending your software level you will perhaps not see the "Copy" Tab. In this case you should upgrade your software to the latest version. -> DVx combine : The combiner depends on the selection made in the "Setup" tab of the "Dvx Edit": - If you select both Channel 1 and 2 as "Single", the two channels are NOT combined and you will have Ch1 Video over infra black on output "DVx1" and Ch2 Video over infra black on output "DVx2" - If you select channels 1 & 2 as "Pair 1/2", channels 1 and 2 are combined and you will have the combined fill signal on output "DVx1" and the combined key signal on output "DVx2". -> If you have an XtenDD (and not a DD35 - panels are the same but Main Frames are different) you should have 4 keyers per ME, including the PP. Check the "PP mode" in the Status menu as Scotty suggested, Key 3 and Key 4 should be validated. -> About the tally problem, it sounds like a transition that is not acheived. - This can come from a limit set on, then just turn it off and perform a transition. - Or from the fader not correctly adjusted. In this case goes in "Install / Panel / Global" menu and launch the fader adjustment (don't forget to move ALL your faders up and down) The good points in having several questions in a single post, is that I'm pretty sure that at least one of my answers will help you ;-) Regards Christophe

Scott, The PP/PST problem your talking about... Make sure that in the PGM/PST ME menu that the ME MODE is set to KEY 3. This may help you with that part of your problem. As for the DVX... We only use ours for Doubble boxes... and we use an ME to key it ... Good luck! Scotty
