This may be simple but I can't figure it out. On one ME of my switcher I get a user hold command whenever I build and run a time line even though I do not have a user hold in the timeline or want one. On the other ME's when I call up a timeline and run it (cut) it runs through the entire timeline or runs to the point that I have inserted a user hold. Usually it's preferable to have the timeline cue up the DDR or DVE and set up a snapshot, then have a user hold so you can run the effect when needed. Any thoughts would be appriciated

On another timeline issue. any thoughts wether it is preferable to build a timeline with pre built snapshots or just insert the current state as you go along (keyframe 1,2 3 ect) I have had a few problems when I built a timeline just inserting a current state but found that I lost those settings later. It is very possible that I just screwed up something, but I was wondering if anybody thought that one way was better than the other.

thanks for any help

Knute

Hi Sean Twice in the past month or two I built fairly complicated timelines and when I came back later each keyframe (current state) said "Keyframe 0" and did not recall the switcher effect. I had saved the timelines in a config so I'm not sure what it was. On the other hand I have sucessfully built and saved many timelines usuing current state so that's why I was wondering if anybody had an opinion about usuing snapshots or current state. My DD35 becomes a boat anchor in a month or 2 and will be replaced with a Sony 8000a. I've been on GVG, Abekas or the DD35 all my life so this could be a learning experience. Knute

Knute, I have not been on- or frankly near- a '35 in some time, but my answer would still be that I just "insert the current state as I go." What types of things have you had happen (or, perhaps, not happen)? Sean

Sean That was it. Went into that ME and checked auto run, which was off. Thanks for the help, I was spinning my wheels looking everywhere else Do you build your timelines with snapshots or just insert the current state as you go? thanks again Knute

Knute, I'm not in front of a DD35 so I can't check this theory, but: is "AutoRun" a feature that is turned on per ME? If so, maybe you don't have it enabled in the ME in question. Sean
