I've gotten a couple calls lately for some Spring training baseball but the truck has a 2.5 ME kayak switcher on it. Is this a switcher that can be learned a just a few hours (lets say 6)?

I'd offer that if you already know a DD-series switcher, then you can quickly adapt to the Kayak...it's software is almost identical to that of a DD. If you're not familiar with a DD, then I'd suggest "no"...not in 6 hours for anything other than the most basic cutting with minimal effects.
