GVEous control head communications problems

I have a 2 channel GVEous HD/SDI MX outboard to a Zodiak 2.5 M/E. I had to do a power shutdown of my entire plant over the weekend. We've done this before and have not had any problems on power up. The entire facility is about 3 years old.

This time was different...the GVEous control head doesn't want to talk to the frame. It displays an error message on start up (can't detect frame, or something like that), and then goes to a blank display. I've cycled the power a couple of times to no effect. I tried cycling the power while depressing the 'Acquire' button....no effect. Did a soft reset on the control head....no effect. Reseated the control cable at the frame and the control head, again no effect. Unfortunately, it seems that you cannot remove the RFI shielding on the frame and therefore can't access any of the card edges....apparently on the older composite models you could do that and do a DVE or CPU reset from the card edge.

My tiny little brain has run out of ideas. Anyone out there have issues like this? Thanks.

Marc

Did this ever get fixed? Curious what the problem was. If you are powering the panel locally, I assume it powers up even w/out frame comm. So that might be why the panel has lights. -Curt

Good morning Travis. Thanks for your input. I went through that procedure a couple of times as I did a power cycle. All of my status lights are lit on the frame...and unfortunately, all of the LED's are lit on the control head as well. After the error message disappears I'm left with a blank edit screen on the head (it has power, just no display information) and all of the individual button LED's lit. I think I'll turn it off and let it rest for a day. I'm still open to any other suggestions. Marc

Allow the Dveous about 4-5 minutes of boot up time - It will show you a "No Chassis Detected" status screen. Also after about 4 to 5 minute boot up time look at the frame to see if the Panel and Chasis panel lights are flashing. Upon first bootup you will only get the Power light to display.
