Before you update, save your application (which includes all emems, macros, aux CP's, source names, button assignments) to a usb stick. The ram stills and clips do not get backed up in the application and need to be backed up separately. Depending on what software version you are running, you may be able to backup to a usb stick. Though, you can transfer your files onto a PC through the side panel application. After you update your software, you will need to load your saved application onto the switcher. This will recall all emems, macros, aux CP's, source names, and button assignments. You will also need to re-load your stills and clips onto the switcher using side panel. *NOTE: Most DPM effects should work on an upgraded software version. Additionally, the Kayak has two partitions so that if something went seriously wrong, you can activate the other partition and be up and running again.
