What's going on with CBS Sports, bank robbery at the Masters, now this.

Daniel Barron, 56, a CBS sports freelance photographer who was in South Florida to cover Sunday's Dolphins game, has been arrested and charged with solicitation to commit sexual battery on a child under 12.

The arrest affidavit states that a Broward Sheriff's Office detective posed as an adult male with an 11-year-old daughter in a chat room for ``open-minded parents.''

When the undercover detective said he was staying at a Fort Lauderdale hotel on business, Barron replied, ''Very, very cool, not a cop,'' according to the affidavit.

During the alleged chat, Barron stated he wanted the make-believe daughter to provide oral sex and have sex with him while the detective videotaped it. The affidavit further states that they meet at his hotel, the Renaissance Hotel on the 17th Street Causeway in Fort Lauderdale.

Barron also said he worked for the media and might be able to provide Dolphins tickets to the man and his daughter.

The affidavit stated he wanted the daughter to sleep nude in his bed and wrote, ``I will be very gentle with her.''

Barron was still at the Broward County Jail late Monday, held on $75,000 bond.

Newspaper people never get that right. Surprised they didn't say he was there to "film" the Dolphins game.

Rick, I do not know where the "photographer" part was gotten but in another story I read it listed him as TM.

I know Dan Barron but he was a Tech Manager and it does look to be the same person. Geeezz! Update (11:20 PM): I spoke to a collegue late this afternoon and sure enough this is the same Dan Barron who is a Tech Manager whom I have worked with over the years. I like most of his other colleagues were in shock over this disturbing news. As one of my colleagues said who came up through the ranks with him, "you just never know". I feel for Dan, his wife and his 2 children during this difficult time which unfortunately, makes my head shake in wonder.
