I'm doing my first game on a Kayak this weekend and I'm looking through the user manual and it all looks very strange to me. I'm used to a 4000 and have had very limited experience on a Zodiak but this doesn?t look much like either of those. I am especially worried about building a fast forward effect. The master E-Mem section doesn?t look like what I'm used to using. Does anyone have any suggestions or am I worried about nothing? Also, I can?t find anywhere in the manual how to map inputs. Any ideas?

Any help is appreciated.

Ryan
From what I did read, it looks like to build effects with one keyframe in DD mode.

Us your triggers, holds and events to create your timeline.
I'm just curious, is this referring to just FF-type effects? If you need to create an effect that actually moves something around, do you still use DD mode and one-keyframe effects?

reccles , I'm Jim Pirtle and a trainer on the Kayak. I've trained Earl Millers TD's on that system. If you run into issues call me and I can assist over the phone. The EIC should have my number or ask Mike Miller for it. Jim Pirtle

Yes that is correct. Just look for the Edit menu at the bottom of the screen when you are in the Time/Memo screen (right click to find this option on your side panal). Us your triggers, holds and events to create your timeline. Once you get one built you should be OK. Good luck! Once you get used to it it is a great switcher. Courtney

It is Earl Miller Productions out of Austin. Their website shows its a Grass 250 but a friend of mine tells me they just put in a Kayak. Is the DD35 a Phillips? I have never used a Phillips. I'm pretty new to being a TD. From what I did read, it looks like to build effects with one keyframe in DD mode. Is that correct?

It is very different. It is a lot like the DD35. The manual will prove to be useless for just about everything. You can build your effects using multiple keyframes but I have found it easier to use just one using a series of triggers and holds to accomplish a timeline. What truck are you on? Courtney
