Toronto TD, My station just put an 8000G in so I'm coming fresh off all the frustration associated with it. If you have any questions, I'll do my best to help you out. -Allan

Ironic....I logged on to post just such a Question. I know I've done it once on the switcher when we first got it (8000 v5.21) Probably brain overload right now. (New News Gfx pkg & elements going online next week) I too will try that approach, since I too need to save these universal settings for my shows Thanks, Don KXTV Sacramento

I'd go to Engineering Setup>System>Startup (it's page 7314). I'd change setup and initial status for the switcher, panel, and dme to user and execute. I'm not sure if it requires a reboot but if it does, go for it. Highlight all your M/E's in the DME area and hit clear work buffer a couple times. Then set up all the keyers the way you want. If you've mapped the switcher, put the sources you want in each keyer in each M/E. Then go back to 7314, highlight SWR and hit the setup define and init status define buttons, then highlight Panel, and do the same and then highlight DME and do the same. Then go to File Menu>All,External File (page 7161). Highlight setup, initial status, and key memory and save that to the hard drive. I think this will do what you're trying to do. After this, if you blow out an M/E by clearing the work buffer, everything should default to where it was when you did the setup define and init status define. I've been told that every time you make a setup change, you should go to 7314 and at least do the setup define and init status define for the switcher and panel. Hope this helps! Allan
