I have a quick question about keying 16x9 supers over 4x3 video with side skirts or flags. Currently our 16x9 supers are cropped at 4x3 if the underlying video is a skirted 4x3 image, if the key is done inside of the single M/E.

I would take a guess that the skirts are using a keyer. So is there a way to change the priority and get the full 16x9 width of the supers?

Ah ha! Thank you Ken! We figured out that the M/Es were configured to add the skirts instead of the individual crosspoints. We turned off the skirts on the M/E outputs and added the config to the 4:3 sources and now the keyer covers OVER the skirts. Yay!!!

Hi Scott, The side skirts are setup in the Engineering Config menu. No keyers are used for side skirts. This way you can select any SD 4x3 source direct and have the side skirts already inserted. Any 16x9 supers you add in an M/E will be the full 16x9 width. If you do not see the HD graphic running the full width of the screen, check to see if the key is being masked or if its Resize Engine is on. Cheers, -= Ken =-
