I realize that this is way off topic, but the klystron tube at my station has failed. Our analog channel is off air, and I knew a lot of the members here work at over-the-air stations, so I wondered if anyone knew where we could get a used one? We hate to get a brand-new one for just 11 months of broadcasting on the analog channel, not to mention I don't want to see my raise fly out the window! Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

greg

Mongo, we were in the same boat when our analog tower collapsed in december. we also didn't want to buy new for only a year so we took the renting idea also. according to our chief engineer we are renting an entire transmitter and antenna from e2v you may want to check into that here is their site greg

Thanks for the info... I really have no idea the brand and model they need (I'm several things at my station, but an engineer is not one of them!) I'll pass it along. EDIT - I was just told we found a tube at a station in SC. Thanks for the input.

I don't know much about RF, but how about these searches. I'll have to ask our transmitter guy. The only tube I have is a Numitron from a TCR-100. The names of the manufactures are all familiar like Thales, Eimac and Amperex; but it's like they're scattered to the four winds.
