I couldn't find this one posted before but after upgrading from V12 to V14 on our Kalypso Classic systems, the machine control no longer responds correctly.

The main problem is an external device known as an RTD, it really a DPS/Leitch Velocity based DDR. Under V12 machine control it will correctly make the RTD 'Play' but under V14 it will play the same clip at 'variable speed 1' and not fully lock, causing a stuttered playback. Have tried both DDR & BVW with no appreciable difference.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Gus

This almost sounds like a device driver problem. You might want to consider changing the mode in which the switcher & DDR talk...from VDRCS to AMP for example - or even BVW-75...just to see if you can fool the device.

Hi, Have tried reboots and also re-creating device on system no change, but if I roll back to V12 all as it should be. Gus..

Have you tried re-booting both switcher and DDR? Sounds like you did but maybe try deleting and re-assigning the device. Lastly does the variable playback occur through a timeline 'play' command as well as using the machine control commands on the panel above pgm/pst?
