I have a 11U mainframe and there is a SCSI chain in it, connecting ME boards, DVE boards and two hard drives. The last drive, before the terminator, is disconnected.

I know this is the backup drive and in my facility they are frequently mirrored, however I wonder if I can run them both connected to the chain, selecting which drive to use instead of switching them manually.

I should try to connect the second drive and see what happens. Or maybe is it required to have a single drive at a time?

Hi Silvio, It looks like you are backing up the system the correct way at this point. Has the facility upgraded to the latest software yet? Cheers, -= Ken =-

[quote="kschneider"]The second drive cage (next to the terminator) is for future use. I would not connect a second internal drive to the system. Usually we backup the main drive to USB (overnight, it takes a long time, if you are lucky enough to find the drive the next morning :( ), power off, disconnect the first drive and connect the second, power up, then restore backup. Is this a correct workflow?
