Hi, I'm new to this forum, looks like there is a lot of knowledge out there so hopefully someone can help me with my question . . .

I have a GVG 200-2 switcher in a small truck and just got a DPM-700 that I'd like to interface with the switcher. I have two questions:

I know that in order to control the DPM-700 and take full advantage of the interface I need to connect via Pbus rather than GPI. I don't have a dual serial adaptor for the switcher and was wondering where I could find one. I see a lot of 200's for sale with the Dual Serial Adaptor but I've never seen just the adaptor for sale. Any ideas?

The DPM-700 came with no cable to connect the control panel to the mainframe. Does anyone know if it's just a straight through cable? It looks like it would be the same DB-15 to DB-15 cable that connects the switcher control panel to it's mainframe, anyone know? If that's the case then I could check that cable and make one for the DPM-700 but I don't want to blow anything up either. I realize that this model was pre-online manuals but if anyone has any PDF technical manuals on this, I could really use a copy. For that matter I could also use an operator's manual too if someone has this.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Steve

Well I answered my own question and got it working. It's a straight through cable but the wires that carry current to the control panel need to be heavier. Luckily I found a cable that would suit this application and made it work. Now comes the fun of learning the DPM-700 without a manual. I got it hooked up and I'm currently using the 200's auxes for the DPM inputs and was considering a 10xl router to free up some of my auxes. Anyone have any feedback about this setup? Also, if anyone has a manual and would like to share it with me, I would greatly appreciate it. The unit seems to work well and I was able to program a simple sequence but keep loosing my windows somehow - is there a way to locate the windows once you have manipulated them beyond the point of no return? Can I reset them? I tried setting x,y,z back to zero but that didn't seem to work so I powered it down and tried again. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Steve
