I have been having a strange problem with the Kalypso lately that I was hoping somebody else has experienced and knows how to fix....

A few times a week (at random times during show's) the "Run" buttons on the all of the M/E banks will stop working (as in I hit run and nothing happens) It happens on many different effects... so it is not one particular effect.

At the first available time I will reboot the panel and everything is fine again... but it is quite the hassle to reboot the panel in the middle of a newscast.

Anybody have any ideas as to what could be causing this?? and what I can do to fix it??

We had that same problem on our switcher. I found that when either the Matte Swap or Matte Copy buttons (I don't recall which) in the upper right were the culprit. When the offending button was pressed, viola 'run' no longer worked on the ME level. To resolve this issue I just did replaced the button with an empty macro. Hope this helps. Jeff Warner.

Ryan, I believe our station also encountered this problem. [we currently are not on a kalypso so I don't have one in front of me to check] I also recall that GV or someone admitted it was a known issue that "ocassionally" happened. To get around it I believe we made a macro that hit the "run" button of the m/e and then actually attached that macro to each specific M/E button. Since then we haven't had a problem. I'm not sure why it recoginzes the button press for the macro and not always for the run command. Good - Luck. -Clint
