I"m having an issue with a kaylpso running version 15 with device control running "amp" protocol with a GVG K2 server. When I run a quick transistion and try to run it again without recalling the effect, the animation and the timeline are not in sync, the transition happends either too soon or too late. Its seems like the animation is running at variabl speed even though there are no variable speed comands in the timeline of device control. I fixed that problem by using a macro to recall the effect again an placing that macro in the last keyframe of my effect.

I tried just using a " cue" command at the end of the time line and a re-load and cue.

The second problem is I some times have to recall and effect 2 or three times to get it to cue properly. These are both chroma key effects using 1 channel of K2.

thanks,.

Your first problem is probably this. The first keyframe has a 'load' command, and then assuming 2nd keyframe plays. Even though you are re-cuing at the end, when you run again the timeline wraps around and keyframe 1 is loading the clip again, meanwhile rest of the timeline is going. That load is messing up the timing. The fix I used when I ran Amp was to have a macro at the end that rewound the timeline. I had a macro timeline that did keying and undercut, so I added this to end. So get rid of the cue at the end. The clip will stop at end of clip since it is trimmed in K2 (assuming). Macro timeline does a rewind at end, does the load and you will be all set like you recalled effect a 2nd time without actually doing it. They really should have the device load command as a header info (or sony terms rewind action) Maybe in Kayenne they can do this? As far as the other problem. Are all of your clips in the same folder? Even though Amp is suppose to be able to go into all folders, I had found it doesn't do it well. (this was using a turbo with Amp) that I had similar problem (would not re-cue first time occasionally), I moved everything into the same folder and that seemed to fix that problem. I totally hate the idea of one long clip. I loved running Kalypso with Amp and seperate clips, was easy to organize stuff, and easy to add effects. Get/Put, change the load clip and tweak a undercut. One long clip has some advantages (quicker recall time, etc) But really defeats purpose of having a server in my opinion.

I"ll try the dummy key frame thing tommrow. What about the device not cueing up sometimes unless I recall the effect 2 or 3 times ? each animation is a separate clip do you think using one long clip might work best ?

Just out of curiosity, do you have a device trigger on the last keyframe of the timeline? I've seen strange things randomly happen if this is the case. If so, add a dummy keyframe on the end of the effect.
