I am setting up a new control room with a "new" Kalypso.  4M/E 90 inputs/48 outputs.

From what I have read this switcher has 8 outputs on the still store.  When mapping the switcher do I or should I "map" all 8 outputs to crosspoints?  Also can I map 4 channels as video (1/3/5/7) and pair them with a key signal coming from 2/4/6/8.?

Thanks for the help.

The switcher comes with 8 SS outputs, which can be either 8 video ouputs or 4 v/k outputs or any combination you need.  When you pair channel 1, channel 2 becomes the key signal and so on.

I usually map ss 1,3,5,7 on the front side and then map ss 2,4,6,8 on the shift side at the same crosspoints.  that way I can utilize all channels in different combinations depending on my needs.

You do not need to map ss 2,4,6, or 8 to use them as key channels.  When you make v/k pairs the key becomes part of the ss 1,3,5,7 output.

Thanks, GAW...I sort of figured that would be the way...can't wait to move from Sony 7350 SD to Kalypso HD!
