What is the best way to have 2 program outputs... everything the same except one output has Key 1, and the second has Key 2.  This is easy to do normally by reentering the PP Clean feed back into an ME, and keying Key 2 over it.  However, what I want is for Key 2 to be activated when I activate Key 1... thus when one key goes in or out, the other does also.. and the main background/program video remains the same.

Thanks

Curt

Not in front of the switcher right now, but maybe try this.

Take Key 2,3,4 out of PP PGM 1 out

Use KPVW-1 and have background as the vid source, and key 2 linked. All other keys off.  Linked will only put the keyer on the output when the key is actually on as opposed to just being "on" regardless of the state of the keyer itself.

Feed PP Key PVW 1 out an output that hits your rotuer/patchbay etc..and marry it w/ the correct audio.

This way you stay out of MP2 ( or MP for that matter), which IMO is better to do on P/P.

My only gotcha is if you can take keys out of the PGM 1 mix w/out being in MP/MP2.  Can't remember off hand

I use a similar setup to create a "clean" feed ....and when I say clean...I mean partially clean. Basically PGM+ DSK 4 ( linked in Key PVW1)  For me though I have PP PGM 1 with all 4 keys able since this is my main pgm feed to the plant.  Key PVw1 I just fed out the same output that was previously "clean"..( squeaky totally clean, no keys)...to the plant...so when someone routs of the clean, they get this instead ( which is what I was asked to provide).  DSK 4 in my case is where I key all the transitions...so these end up on the clean..which is what was asked for.

The title of your question indicates that you are on the right track:  MP2 + Internal Bus Link + Key Trans Link should be what you are looking for.

Re-enter the M/E as you mentioned and link your keys.  I believe it is in the "switcher" seat-up menu under "link".
