I'm working on a Kalypso I've got a simple effect thats driving me nuts. I have 2 lower third fonts the first font needs rotate to  along the Y axis and on the far side is the 2nd font.

When I rotate the font the far side disapears when Turn on the Back VERT reverse and Front Horz rerverse so I read the font.

I know its somthing simple but I cant see it.

Try starting your effect with the BACK SIDE REV turned on. Learn that as part of the effect. Then do your rotation - your 2nd side font should come up correctly. If you just turn on the REV flag on the 2nd keyframe, the effect will go from KF 1-2 thinking that the back side isn't reversed, and then the flag that tells it to reverse will pop on at the 2nd KF, causing unexpected results.

I'll try that next time I'm in front of the switcher. I should have mentioned I was trying to accomplish the flip with an effects disolve. Would that have made a difference ?

Yes it would make a difference - the Transform Engines work off of Keyframes, not the header information that is stored at the beginning of each register (such as EFF DIS).
