I have a couple of questions regarding the Ross Vision switcher ..

I'm doing a NYE show on a small truck with a Ross Vision, having never touched one (my day to day is a Sony 8000G) I'm wondering about the still store. Can I run 10 to 15 second still store animations (key and fill) on a 3 point loop?

And second, a more simplistic question, can I link M/E's?

You would be best advised to check with the truck provider... if it is the truck I'm thinking of, it has a Vision 2 panel, with the Media Cache and 3 channels of internal Still Store... (some of the features are dictated by which frame they have the panel connected, the QMD or the Octane.)

As I recall, the still stores are strictly that, STILL STORES, but the switcher also has an internal media cache option...

You probably want some sort of open, or re-open anim which will then continue to play in loop mode between point 2 and 3 as sort of BUG (with fireworks or such) CG countdown clock on top of this... (how am I doing do far?  ;-) )

Again, if it is the truck I'm thinking of, check to see if they still carry the Lance and Doremi DDR... that might also be an option for your consideration...

Ross uses Custom Control Macros to create effects recalls and trigger/cue commands. You are probably more familiar with the Timeline / Effects region approach employed on the Sony...

I honestly don't think the switcher will be an issue for you. After the debacle last year, I'd be more concerned with the Uplink and Transmission folks... delay of 14 minutes or so making it to air... priceless!!!
